About Workplace Survivor

Workplace Survivor is built on real experiences, real stories, and real insight. I'm a real person, I just prefer to stay off camera. ♥ Lilly J. Dale
Meet Lilly J. Dale of Workplace Survivor
After 25+ years working in Human Resources across multiple industries, Lilly saw the same thing over and over again:
Workplace situations are rarely as simple as they seem.
-
Employees feel unheard.
-
Managers feel unsupported.
-
HR gets blamed for everything.
-
Policies are inconsistently applied.
-
Communication breaks down.
Workplace Survivor was created to pull back the curtain on how workplaces actually function: the good, the bad, the frustrating, and sometimes the absurd.
The survivors of the workforce; are the ones who are high achievers, competent and capable in their roles and accomplish others’ work to keep everything flowing forward, in every workplace. Majority of workplace survivors never get the recognition they deserve. They collect ‘singes’ as I call them; they’re a memory collection of scars, stress, and sometimes emotional, monetary, or physical burns from a workplace.
I’m a Gen Xer and speak fluid sarcasm with a snark dialect. We tend to sit back and shake our heads at how others make things so much more complicated than they need to be, while stating they are strictly black and white simple thinkers.
Those entering the workforce with an entitlement attitude chip so large it’s amazing they can fit through doors. Or those who use words, straight off Google or TikTok, that they don’t understand the actual meaning to or theory behind it. Incredibly impressive. Cliff Notes actual gave us an understanding of the subject, called background.
If this website isn’t your cup of tea, it’s okay. Take your cup, opinion, and move on. If something offends you, perfectly okay, you will not be harmed by being offended – it’s not a fatal diagnosis. Hate is not welcome here.
Welcome to the Workplace Survivor experience!
Our Mission
Let’s talk. It is our mission to be a multi-purpose site for all things that occur in the workplace. We have serious employment laws and regulations, straight from the source and broken down to make them easier to understand. We have common situations that frustrate others in the workplace and answers to help understand why.
Humans in the workplace and Human Resources in the workplace don’t always equal a perfect outcome. As humans we all have our own opinions, bring our own experiences, and handles rules in a different way. The ultimate goal is to have everyone comfortable and civil in the workplace.
